Are You Real?
Descrição
This video walks through the strongest arguments in philosophy and science for why you can't, and why no one ever has.
We get into the big ideas that keep people up at night: the dream argument, the brain in a vat, the simulation hypothesis, the hard problem of consciousness, and the strange corners of physics that look almost like reality was written in code.
These aren't internet theories.
They come from thinkers like Descartes, Hilary Putnam, Nick Bostrom, and David Chalmers, and they all circle the same unsettling truth.
You can never step outside your own mind to check whether the world out there is really there.
The stranger part is what happens when you follow that all the way down. Every certainty you hold rests on another one, until you reach the bottom and realize there's nothing underneath it at all.
If you've ever wondered whether you're living in a simulation, questioned whether other people are truly conscious, or doubted that anything around you is real, this video is for you.
The ending is the only honest answer anyone has ever been able to give.

Do we live in a simulation? 🛑Please like this video, it really helps me a lot. - Zenn
Honestly, Martin Gardner’s answer at the end is so grounding. It doesn't matter if it's rock or running code, the fact that we get to experience it at all is what counts
LOVE THE ENDING!! The closure it needed, whatever doubt you're having about yourself existing, you're doubting it, you're having that thought, you're experiencing that yourself. YOU'RE HERE!!
Through out much of my adult life, I was aware of dreaming vs real life while dreaming.
I liked the voiceovers for the last two ones! But whatever suits you, your content is amazing ✨️✨️
I never thought of the Matrix like this.. 😵
Since I was a child I wondered about if it's all just my dream, how different/similar we perceive things and so on and so on. Such profound things like what is real are damn interesting. However, the thoughts of Descartes are not that right. If trained, one can learn how to realise to be in a dream. I had this trained and was able to get some lucid dreams. Thats something really amazing
