Is this the biggest housing estate in Europe? Join me as I drive through Eurovillas, a fascinating neighbourhood in the Madrid community with a very unexpected history.

Built in the 1960s by an American company, this area was originally designed to house US military personnel and their families stationed at the nearby Torrejón Air Base. Unlike the typical high-rise apartments of Madrid, Eurovillas feels like a slice of the American suburbs transported to Spain—complete with large plots of land, front and back gardens, and a grid-like street layout.
