Spain news update and Spain’s National Police have defended their response to an anti-overtourism demonstration in Palma, Mallorca, which ended with eight people injured, including a photojournalist. Police say around 200 “aggressive and violent” protesters attacked two tourists and threw objects including stones, sticks and cans at officers.

All kudos to the people fighting the fires. I watched them for 12 hours dealing with ours last week. Those guys keep us well away. They bravely head towards it.
Re: wildfires - we get an occasional arsonist here (San Diego), but the majority are accidents or equipment failures. Firefighters here have higher rates of cancer and cancer mortality. Amazing people put themselves at risk to help others. About 24c here today and blue skies.
Individual responsability applies to tourists too
Plenty of Spanish people living here in London, no complaints from Londoners.
Stu tourism is a compliment to a country, it says we love your country and its culture and want to spend our holiday here. However, there will always be people who spoil that experience, frustrating residents.

Having owned in Spain for 20 years, having paid all of my taxes I am always surprised how little tax revenues appears to be spent on providing social housing. That said we did not live in one of the major cities so have little to base my opinion upon. I am always amazed when Spanish is not the first language in any business, that said Spain is not alone with this issue.
