imagine complaining about the small size of strawberries in Europe and ending up not buying them, missing their one lifetime chance to actually taste what a strawberry is supposed to taste like - just because it was not GMO, pumped full of pesticides and water to make them triple the size of what they should be without giving any concern to taste, but only to looks and size….

For many, those 12 seconds on the escalator make the difference between catching the next train and getting to work/an appointment on time, while for others, it doesn't matter because they're not under that kind of time pressure. So, "Stand on the right, walk on the left" is a social courtesy that we can all adhere to. It's not that difficult, and it doesn't hurt anyone.

Ngl there is a difference between asking "Can I pet your dog" and asking "Can I pet your dog" WHILE ALREADY REACHING FOR IT. I had such an adorable golden retriever at work and I came over (with respectable distance) and asked "Hey, I know this is weird with me working here and all, but your dog is so adorable, can I pet it?" and the owner told me to go for it. Just don't already reach for it??

About those tiny roads : you have to keep in mind that the houses where build before cars where a thing, so you can´t expect them to just be perfectly wide for cars. Heck some of those roads are older then your country. They where build for pedestrians and small handcarts.
