As a german I even consider what items I put on the band first :D So bottles and cans first, then frozen things, after that the light packed goods and finally lettuce or fruit or something. Saves you a lot of time when you have to pack it up in a hurry :D
Nice prank to put instead of the divider a Toblerone bar at the end.
The dreaded check-out situation at the cashier lines... would William Wallace have stood a chance against German grandmas cart-checking you into the magazine isle?
I'm laughing so hard! Things have changed in Germany over the years in many ways. That said, the DETAILS are still there. It's all about the little things. Your description about getting through the check-out is priceless! I have carried this detailed way of doing things that I learned in Germany through my entire life. It exists in every culture and I seek it out in order to learn how to work whatever system I'm in!
It’s these little details that make your vlogs so much fun. Like Germany, here in California, you can purchase all alcohol products in Safeway (West Coast version of Publix). Thinking it’s dry states which are mostly in the southern parts that don’t combine the two. Thank you Phil and Deana for taking us on the tour, summer is coming and tourist arriving.💕👍
The Aldis in my city here in the US are pretty much like this too. The cashiers arms move faster than the eye can see!
I live in Switzerland and love to go to Germany to shop 😊🧑🏾🍳
Team work at the checkout is what my sister and I used in Germany. I loaded the groceries on the conveyor and took care of the payment while she fielded the groceries thrown at her. The German citizens behind us were amazed!
